John Dearborn is Geographic President - India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) for Dow. In addition to developing growth opportunities in the business critical Region, Dearborn leads the Dow management team for the Ras Tanura Integrated Project – Dow’s proposed joint venture with Saudi Aramco.

A member of Dow’s Business Operations Committee, Dearborn has also been named to the board of MEGlobal BV, a Dubai, UAE headquartered Dow joint venture and EQUATE Petrochemical Company KSC, a Kuwait based joint venture. Both ventures are with Petrochemical Industries Company of Kuwait

In 2001, Dearborn joined Dow as business vice president for the Technology Licensing and Catalyst Business and served on the board of Univation Technologies LLC, a technology joint venture between Dow and ExxonMobil Chemical. In 2004, Dearborn moved to Hydrocarbons and Energy as business vice president, Olefins. He was named business vice president for Energy in early 2006 with responsibilities for Energy advocacy and Mining, Storage and Pipelines operations. In 2006, he assumed additional responsibilities for leading Dow’s negotiations for the Saudi Aramco venture.

Dearborn attended the Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey and New York University, Stern School of Business in New York, and has B. E. (Chemical); M. E. (Chemical) and an M.B.A. in Finance and International Business. He will be based in Dubai, UAE.

Ron McGihon is a Licensing Manager in ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company’s (EMRE) Technology Sales and Licensing Department and is located in Fairfax, VA. In addition, Ron is responsible for ExxonMobil’s Alkylation portfolio. He has 37 years of experience in refinery operations and technical service and with the evaluation of operating integrity programs in both Refining and Upstream. Ron has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University.

Mr. Albaghli graduated in 1989 from Kuwait University
with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. Albaghli has 18 years experience in the oil refinery area and prior to that he worked For KGL, Kuwait (one of the major heavy transportation company in Kuwait and the GCC) ,as a Technical Manager, in charge of three Heavy Equipment garages. He starts his career with KNPC as Mechanical Design Engineer .Then Material & Contract Engineer, Senior Engineer Costing & Planning and currently holding a management position as Team Leader Mech. Maint. directing the functions of the field maintenance activities in a complex refinery where he interact with manufacturers/suppliers, contractors (both local and international).

Mr. Albaghli has a very active role in KNPC EDMS (Electronic Document Management System).Also, he has been a Champion of Safety, Health and Environment ManagementSystem activity related to ‘Information and Documentation’ to establish systems and procedures for development, updating, maintenance of technical and personnel documents across the entire KNPC.

Stuart Simpson is a chemical engineer with a BSc(Eng) from Imperial College in London and a PhD from the University of California Berkeley. He has been with UOP Limited for the last twenty-nine years in a variety of marketing and international sales positions. He is currently Marketing Director for the EMEA region in UOP’s Process Technology and Equipment Business Unit. As part of those activities, he actively monitors and analyses the global energy, oil and refining markets to assist with UOP’s strategic planning.

Mike's association with the region dates back to 1993 in Saudi Arabia where his role focused on the successful operation of Shell joint ventures including serving as Managing Director and Board member of different downstream companies.

In late 1997, he joined Shell Global Solutions International as Commercial Manager. Based in The Hague, his responsibilities then included business development in the Middle East and Central and South America, working principally with National Oil Companies. Over this period Shell Global Solutions grew from 1500 to almost 5000 people providing operational, technical and business consultancy to the energy industry in over 50 countries today.

Now based in Dubai, Mike works on creating business-with-business and business-with-government co-operation.

Mike has a BA and a degree in Law and joined Royal Dutch Shell in Australia after finishing his post-graduate studies in 1978, when he became a qualified Barrister and Solicitor. He is married with four children and enjoys traveling, sports and the diversity of cultures in the Middle East.
