Introduction from the Chairman

On behalf of the Petrotech 2008 organising committee, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to Petrotech 2008 in Bahrain

The aim of the conference is to create a venue for technical and other professionals in the refining and petrochemical industries to interact, exchange information, share knowledge and be exposed to the latest technologies.

This year's conference theme "Refining/ Petrochemical Integration: The Way for Future Growth" centres on the integration of both these industries. This theme is critical to professionals on both sides, and the technical exchange at Petrotech 2008 will provide a timely opportunity for professionals to further understand each other and ensure successful integration and partnership.

With a wide range of topical conference sessions, senior keynote speakers and an exceptional exhibition of refining and petrochemical products and services, Petrotech 2008 will have something for every interest in the future development of the Middle East's vast hydrocarbon resources.

It is a great honour for me and Kuwait Oil Company to chair Petrotech 2008, and we look forward to working with national and international oil companies, professional societies, universities and other institutions to make this a memorable and rewarding event.
